Mayor Davis has just issued his first veto of a Municipal Council ordinance. The Council had passed an ordinance to allow homeowners to park in front of their driveways (good). The ordinance also called for a one time fee of $50.00 to file for the required permit to do so (maybe not so good). With this veto the ordinance goes back to the Municipal Council where they can over-ride the veto, amend the ordinance, or do nothing. No matter what happens the Council should be applauded for working on solutions to our existing parking problems. The Mayor should also be applauded for wanting a better solution then what the ordinance called for.
