It was indeed a glorious parade on a glorious day. A huge crowd was seen throughout the route. Our Mayor and City Council walked the entire parade route and were very well received by the public. Shouts of Jimmy, Tommy, Sharon, Sal, Juan, and Gary were heard loud and often. In particular Mayor Davis was the crowd favorite. Its been a long time since we have had a Mayor as beloved as Jimmy Davis. The first part of the march included Congressman Sires, County Executive Tom Degise, and Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner. All three were amazed at the progress being made in the City.
The parade itself was wonderful. The bands and marchers were all magnificent. It was great seeing the Bridgemen once again. They have always made Bayonne proud. It was also a great turnout by Bayonne’s Finest and Bravest. Shouts of “thank you” from onlookers were heard early and often. The Bayonne High School Marching Band was awesome.
As an aside Mayoral Candidate Jason O’Donnell was spotted marching and the crowd was respectful and he was not heckled at all. If Dr. Brown was marching he was not noticed. Just an opinion but if you can’t find the time to march in this parade you won’t have time to be the mayor of Bayonne.
Kudos to the parade organizers – great job once again.
