The World is Round and Costco is for Real

Shockingly some people don’t believe that the earth is round.  Shockingly some people don’t believe that we landed on the moon.  Shockingly some people don’t believe that believe that all people are created equal.  Shockingly some people don’t believe that Costco is coming to Bayonne!

Well everyone (and that means all the Mayor Davis critics) Costco is real and will be here and open this summer.  Today, at the former Military Ocean Terminal, a groundbreaking ceremony was held that included the developer, Costco representatives, the BCB bank president and other officers, and various elected officials.  BCB is providing the financing and it is full speed ahead.

With the upcoming election a few weeks away, the Mayor’s opponents are devastated by the fact that yet another good thing is happening in Bayonne.  They hate that a ferry is coming to Bayonne.  They hate that real development is happening in town.  They hate that music and the arts are flourishing in Bayonne.  They hate that the MOT is being developed.  So what do they do, use scare tactics to convince people that development is bad.  They try to fool people that things like Costco coming to Bayonne is not real.  They discount the new stores that have come to Bayonne.  Most importantly they think that Bayonne residents are foolish enough to believe their lies.

Even worst then thinking that Bayonne residents are fools, they actually are rooting for failure as opposed to cheering successes.  Instead of spreading lies and misinformation, tell us how you will make Bayonne better.  I guess we are asking too much of the Mayor’s opponents.  All they are promoting are attack ads and falsehoods.  I guess when you have nothing to offer to voters, you denigrate the people who are actually moving Bayonne forward and solving the real problems that face our community.

Well this August I look forward to seeing everyone at Costco.  Soon afterwards we can ride the ferry to NYC.  In the meantime we can listen to some music on Broadway and enjoy the new art on the Avenue.  No, not a fantasy, just the reality that Mayor Davis and his Council mates are bringing us.
