The results are in and Jimmy Davis has won with 58% of the vote. Jason O’Donnell received 38% and Dr. Brown received 4%. The entire Davis slate was also re-elected. Two weeks ago this blog had the Mayor winning by 24 points as compared to the actual margin of 20 points.
This result is a resounding victory for Mayor Davis and his Council Members. For four years the Mayor and his team made the hard choice of moving Bayonne forward even when their decisions were not politically popular. For four years the Davis team made substantial progress in developing Bayonne for the betterment of all our residents. Today they were rewarded with a mandate to continue the progress and to not be slowed by the naysayers.
The results were also a victory for Bayonne residents. They saw through the negative campaigning and clearly recognized that Bayonne was not only better off today than four years ago, but is also on track to be even better for the next four years. You can fool some of the voters some of the time, but you can’t fool the Bayonne voter at anytime.
From the entire staff at Bayonne Talks , congratulations to Mayor Davis and his team. You earned the victory through your hard work and vision. Bravo Mayor, bravo.
